Excavation & Site Preparation

O'Brien Paving provides small-to-mid-sized excavation and site preparation, supported by equipment, trucking and layout tools. We can discuss excavation as its own scope or alongside asphalt, concrete and landscaping.

Tell us about the site, available access and the work that follows the excavation. Contact us for a free consultation and estimate.

Groundwork for roads, driveways and concrete

New surfaces may require removal, excavation, grading, backfilling and compaction before construction begins. We prepare areas for roads, driveways and related concrete or paving projects, including work where the existing base needs attention.

Reviewing the excavation and finished surface together helps establish the grades, material needs and order of the work.

Connect excavation with the rest of the site

Excavation, drainage and adjoining grades affect the pavement, concrete and landscape work that follow. For commercial sites, our broader offering includes storm sewers, concrete footings and slab-on-grade as well as asphalt, grading and heavy landscaping.

Discuss the whole scope at the outset, including access and any known drainage concerns. Our Commercial Services page brings these connected capabilities together.

Shaping and finishing the property

Earth shaping and grading can be planned with heavy landscaping, rock placement, stone work and the restoration of disturbed areas. We also offer topsoil, seed and sod for the finished site.

Retaining-wall construction, soil stabilization and erosion control are available as part of our excavation services. Tell us what the area needs to support and how it connects to the surrounding property.

Soil and clean fill

Screened topsoil and clean fill are available. Ask about the material, quantity, availability and delivery options for your location.

Some unscreened clean fill may be available free when delivered directly from an excavation, depending on the project, location and delivery arrangements. Confirm the material’s suitability and the terms for your site before making plans around availability.

A clear scope before work begins

Our operators focus on safe, efficient work, with transparent estimates and communication through the project. We review the required equipment, access and sequencing before the work is planned.
